Our History – Nap Industrial Group

Where it Began

When Robert Napieralski (Bob) bought a company called ICS in 2008, he saw potential for a business opportunity but, more importantly, he saw a way to create much-needed jobs in the USA during a crippling economic recession.

Bob retired from a successful forms and software business he founded in 1974, and sold that company as an ESOP, which, in turn, made all the employees the new owners. When that was completed, Bob felt compelled to do something about the economic situation he saw unfolding.

There was an opportunity to purchase a company in California, Inventory Control Systems that sold auto dealer supplies such as disposable floor mats, disposable seat covers, back office forms, etc. He moved the company to Belmont Michigan, near his hometown and changed the name to Nap’s Dealer Supplies.

The Opportunity to Serve Customers

One of the existing products, blank round brass tags, began to unfold as a product with opportunity. Many customers were requesting customization of these tags. Auto dealers and service centers needed them engraved with numbers or the business name and phone number. At that time, Nap’s had no way to provide this service.

NapTags is Created

Nap’s Dealer Supplies purchased a tabletop-engraving machine to help meet the needs of their customers and started advertising the product to new industries. Those little engraved tags turned out to fill a big market gap. A large variety of industries needed them. So, NapTags was created to focus on this market. What began as engraving purchased blank stock tags evolved into NapTags, a leader in the industry with the production of their own stock and custom metal and plastic tags utilizing a turret punch press and laser cutting.

The Evolution of NapNameplates

It turns out there are endless products that can be created with an engraving machine. Using a variety of metals and plastics, Nap’s began creating nameplates and signs to meet the needs of businesses across the country. Nap's continued to evolve and go beyond engraving to offer full color sublimation printing, full color UV printing, Aluma-Tough (Metal-Photo) processing and vinyl printing and laminating. Nap's began offering a full line of office signage and visual products through the NapNameplates brand.

NapADASigns Was the Next Step

With the addition of UV printing, Nap’s acquired the ability to offer signage that is ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant. NapADASigns was created to offer ADA compliant signage, which includes signage for buildings that uses raised tactile lettering and braille. Nap’s offers a full line of stock ADA compliant signs along with custom designs to fit the customer’s needs exactly.

A Brand Name To Tie It All Together

In 2021 Nap’s took on a Re-branding campaign to tie all the individual brands into one family brand - Nap Industrial Group. A newly designed Nap Industrial Group website was created to allow customers one landing site that branches out for them to shop all the individual brands. Due to the variety of products offered through each website, many customers find themselves ordering from across all the brands to find solutions for all their tag, signage and identification product needs.

Jobs Created

All of these products require people to make them happen. That was Bob’s primary goal in starting Nap’s Dealer Supplies in 2008. Since then, Nap Industrial Group has continued to grow and add employees who find it to be a rewarding and positive place to work.
